We’ve been supporting Great Ormond Street Hospital with their much-loved Home For Christmas Stocking Appeal for 7 years now, and with challenges of 2020, it was more important than ever to make it happen.
Every child should have the chance to be at home with their families for Christmas Day, and the appeal helps to get young patients home for Christmas, or at least make the hospital feel as special as possible for those who need to stay there during the festive period.
Here’s how we quickly and safely installed their annual festive set, a central part of the stocking appeal, to help drive donations and display heart-warming messages of support for the children, their families and the staff to read.
Even in the face of a global pandemic, it wasn’t a question of whether or not we could make it happen, but simply how. We got to work quickly (and remotely!) to establish the safest way to install the festive set at the hospital, creating a 3D diagram of the installation to help explain our plan.
On the day, our team worked carefully to construct the set whilst maintaining safe social distancing. After several hours, a few adjustments and some creative solutions, the beautiful tableau was created and ready to be enjoyed by all!
Knowing how hard the incredible staff work at the hospital, providing round the clock care to make sure every child gets the chance to be at home on Christmas, makes supporting this appeal so incredibly important to us.
We were thrilled that, despite the pandemic, we were able to make it a success again this year and look forward to seeing all the festive donations it receives.
“TMG have been great to work with! They were professional and extremely helpful, particularly with the extra challenge of COVID-19, ensuring the necessary precautions were in place so the project could still go ahead. The project was delivered on time and we are really happy with it!” Rebecca O’Neill
