The Women’s Sport Trust has re-appointed The Media Group to deliver the second #BeAGameChanger Awards, to be held in May 2016.
The Awards celebrate the people who make a difference in women’s sport. The nominations showcase incredible talent and highlight the success stories from the media, sponsors and the public. Last year’s event recognised the likes of Nicola Adams MBE, Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson and BBC Sport for their contributions, with Clare Balding as key note speaker. This year’s awards, sponsored by software giant Microsoft, promise to be even bigger and better.
The inaugural event in 2015 was recognised at the prestigious UK Event Awards, winning the ‘Awards Scheme of the Year’ and being commended in the ‘Charity Event of the Year’.
Nicola Waterworth, Operations Director at Women’s Sport Trust, said, “We are pleased to be working with the great team at The Media Group again on the #BeAGameChanger Awards. They are a key part of delivering our event to recognise those individuals and organisations that are making a positive change to women’s sport.”
The Media Group will provide event management and production support.
Jon Gordon, Managing Director of The Media Group, said, “The 2015 awards were a great success. There is still a clear disparity between men’s and women’s sport and events like these help to narrow the gap. The #BeAGameChanger Awards already feels like a firm part of the sporting calendar and The Media Group is proud to be involved.”
The 2016 Women’s Sport Trust #BeAGameChanger Awards will be held on 12 May 2016 at The Rambert Dance Theatre in London.
