Meet our Production Administrator Liz Stenner
Tell me about your career path and how you got to The Media Group?
I’ve always worked in media – I left school at 16 and worked at the local newspaper ‘The Leicester Mercury’ as an Editorial Assistant. After a couple of years I moved to London and worked at a news agency as a copytaker and then got a job at ITN where I worked on the latest thing in TV called ‘Oracle’ the teletext service – I don’t suppose too many of you can remember that?
I then worked on special programmes at ITN such as By-elections, General Elections and Budget specials and worked for the Deputy Chief Executive – this was when Channel 4 News first went on air.
I moved to Derbyshire when I got married and I met The Media Group’s now Chairman Keith when we both worked in the sports department at Central Television. I joined The Media Group in 2005.
What are you working on right now?
Dealing with whatever requests come into production. We’re running a few high-profile events in the next couple of months and it’s my job to make sure everything runs smoothly. And I’m getting to grips with our new project management system!
What does it take to work in an agency?
Be able to get along with people, be flexible and good tea making skills.
What do you get up to outside the office?
I like socialising, trips to the cinema, theatre, seeing live music and eating out.
My new favourite place to eat is La Rock in Sandiacre.
