Meet our Senior Producer Fraser Youngson
Tell me about your career path and how you got to The Media Group?
I studied Media Production at The University of Lincoln and stayed on to complete a master’s degree. During my studies, I worked as a camera operator and photographer for local charities. I liked this side of the industry, but it was the producing and directing that I enjoyed the most.
I approached The Media Group for some work experience and was taken on to help with edits, filming days and general preparation of projects. I was soon taken on full-time as a Production Assistant and over the past four years I have progressed through the ranks to become a Senior Producer at the agency.
I now manage the video team, making sure we produce fantastic, creative work that has an impact for our clients. The job is varied. From internal communications for global companies, promotional videos for charities such as The Dame Kelly Holmes Trust and organisations like The FA.
What are you working on right now?
We have started work on a documentary for The FA about disability access to football stadiums. The team have been travelling up and down the country to interview disabled fans and governing bodies and we are now working through the footage in our edit suite.
We are also working on a campaign film for The Dame Kelly Holmes Trust to demonstrate their strategy leading up to 2020. Our striking creative approach showcases the incredible work they do with young people and athletes. I can’t wait to share it with the world!
What’s your favourite piece of work?
We’ve recently produced a video for GBG, a global PLC providing data intelligence solutions. I loved working on it. It involved filming on a green screen, and working closely with our design team to add motion graphics and animations to bring the video content to life.
What does it take to be a good producer?
– Time management
What do you get up to outside the office?
I’m into live music and try to get to as many gigs as possible. And I love watching films. You’ll often find me at Broadway cinema.
I also enjoy sampling the beers of West Bridgford and I’m getting into cycling around Nottinghamshire.
If you’re ever in the area, the Stratford Haven is the best pub in West Bridgford!
