Meet our Account Manager, Victoria Phillipson
Tell me about your career path and how you got to The Media Group?
I started at The Media Group as a graduate after spending time travelling. To begin with, I worked on live events and helped out with business administration. There were lots of opportunities to volunteer on projects that needed an extra pair of hands, and I learnt a lot from these jobs.
I had the chance to help out in the video team and loved it! I produced my first client video soon after. Over time I moved into a Senior Producer role and went on to manage the video department. After ten years I recently moved across into a client-facing role as an account manager. Now I work with our clients across all our creative and events services.
What are you working on right now?
A range of exciting videos for the Dame Kelly Holmes Trust. The charity uses athletes to help disadvantaged young people and there are lots of inspirational stories to tell.
The team is also working on a plan to deliver an international conference in Spain next year. Very exciting!
What’s your favourite piece of work?
The safeguarding videos we created for The FA for 14-18 year olds. We created a unique educational resource, based on real life scenarios and worked with young actors to deliver them.
What does it take to be a good Account Manager?
Creativity, organisation and tip-top communication skills. I need to make sure everyone understands the brief and that we exceed the client’s expectations.
What do you get up to outside the office?
I like to draw, play with cars, build Duplo towers and sing songs in a circle. Basically spending lots of time playing with my 19 month year old son Arthur.
Vietnam has been my holiday highlight. Amazing culture, amazing people, amazing food.
